LMP2 dispensations given to all non-ORECA cars

The ACO and the FIA have announced that Dallara, Riley and Onroak (Ligier) have all been given dispensations for the making changes to their cars ahead of the 2018 season. 2017 was the first season, where the new type of LMP2 cars started to compete, and ORECA has been well ahead on not only the car count but also the speed and reliability of them. Frank Stippler will start the Audi TT Cup Race of Legends tomorrow from Pole Position. The 42 year-old works driver for Audi beat namesake Frank Biela, while Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen will start in third ahead of Filipe Albuerquerque. Audi secured all 3 DTM titles in the Saturday race

On an amazing late summer day, the penultimate round of this years DTM was held at Hockenheim. Audi Sport had the best cards on their hand to take home the titles in the Saturday race. BMW had other plans and grabbed Pole Position in the shape of Timo Glock ahead of Maxime Martin. The weather was typically Fuji weather with low hanging clouds and a light drizzle. That made the organisers move the FIA WEC qualifying half an hour forward, since the weather forecast expected worse weather later on in the afternoon.
