Rebellion with experience and youth

Rebellion Racing already put names on their FIA WEC drivers back in December, but didn’t announce the driver combinations of the six then.

Following the FIA World Endurance Championship revealing the entry list for the upcoming 2018/19, the team has released their plans for the year.

Car #1 will be shared by Andre Lotterer, Neel Jani and Bruno Senna. That will be the car with experience, because of 2 FIA WEC Drivers Titles, 4 Le Mans victories and 47 Formula One race starts.

Mathias Beche, Thomas Laurent and Gustavo Menezes will share car #3, and with an average age of less than 25, that will be the youth team.

Rebellion Racing announced earlier this week, that they are going to get a car build at ORECA, and it’s official name will be Rebellion R13 with a Gibson engine to power it.

The team has worked together with ORECA since 2014, where the Rebellion R-One LMP1 car was build, and races for three seasons, before they entered the LMP2 category, which they won – with an ORECA 07 – Gibson.

As it was announced the other day, they are going to battle against 8 other LMP1 cars, including the Toyota Gazoo Racing factory team.

The design of the car and it’s technical specifications will be presented on the Geneva International Motor Show on 6 March.

Rebellion Racing won’t get to run much in the car prior to it’s public debut, since ORECA expect to have it ready only shortly before the Prologue is run at Paul Ricard on 6-7 April.
