Van Amersfoort Racing name their first two drivers

Van Amersfoort Racing has the two first drivers in place for the ADAC Formula 4 Championship 2017.

Felipe Drugovich and Louis Gachot will both do their 2nd season in the German Formula 4 Championship, but it will be their first for the VAR team.

Felipe Drugovich is a 16 year old Brazillian, who showed promising speed during this debut season. He finished 4th in the Rookie championship and won several races in the Rookie ranking. In 2016 he drove for Neuhauser Racing, so with the change to the VAR team, who was the Drivers Championship in 2016, and only missed out on the Teams Championship by a few points, he has all the right tools to finish at the top of the championship.

Louis Gachot, son of Bertrand Gachot, only scored one point during the 2016 season, and was the clear weakest link at US Racing, who is run by Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Unger, where his teammates finished 5th and 7th in the championship. Traditionally a lot of teams has a combination, where they focus on one or two drivers, so that could be the reason for his weak results compared with his teammates, combined with both his teammates driving their 2nd season in the championship. So 2017 has to be the year where he show results, if he is going to reach the same achievements and status as his dad, who is former Formula 1 driver and winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The ADAC Formula 4 season will start at the final weekend in April.
