Plenty of stars at the final

There will be plenty of stars behind the wheels, when the VLN final is run at Nürburgring this coming Saturday. The 42. DMV Münsterlandpokal is the 9th round of this years VLN Championship.

The Octane 126 team will once again enter a Ferrari 488 GT3, where the two Swiss drivers Fabio Leimer and Simon Trummer will drive alongside German Björn Grossmann. Both Leimer and Trummer have knowledge from GP2 and Le Mans amongst other things, and they are very fast drivers.

Jonathan Hirschi, who has participated in the FIA WEC this year too, will drive for Walkenhorst Motorsport in BMW M6 GT3.

Montaplast by Land-Motorsport will show up with their fastest driver-combo in an Audi R8 LMS in the shape of Connor De Phillippi and Christopher Mies. Those two drivers were part of the winning line-up during the 24 hour race on May this year.

Phoenix Racing will enter the newly crowned Race of Legends winner, Frank Stippler alongside Christian Mamerow in an Audi R8 LMS.

Falken Motorsports will bring both their Porsche and BMW with Klaus Bachler/Romain Dumas and Peter Dumbreck/Stef Dusseldorp driving, respectively. Black Falcon joins in with Hubert Haupt and Abdulaziz Al Faisal in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Wochenspiegel Team Monschau will bring their usual Ferrari 488 GT3 with Georg Weiss, Oliver Kainz and Jochen Krumbach. Oh yeah, and then we have the two “meat ball cars” from Frikadelli Racing Team with Frank Stippler/Alexander Müller/Nobert Siedler as well as Klaus Abbelen/Andreas Ziegler/Sabine Schmitz in each their Porsche 911 GT3 R. A total of 12 cars will enter the SP9 category, but Manthey Racing will enter in the SPX category again, and hadn’t it been for a small whoopsie at VLN8, they had probably been at the overall podium with their slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 R.

The race will start at 12.00 CET this Saturday.
