Schubert switches to Honda

Schubert Motorsport has been synonymous with BMW Motorsport through the past many seasons, but that is not how it’s going to be in the ADAC GT Masters 2018.

Schubert Motorsport has made a deal with Honda about running their Honda NSX GT3 car. They will run under the Honda Team Schubert Motorsport banner.

Swiss Giorgio Maggi and German Christopher Dreyspring will be the two drivers.

Both drivers already have experience from sportscar racing.

20 year-old Maggi won the CN category in the Asian Le Mans Series in 2015/16, followed up by running a season in the European Le Mans Series, before racing in the Blancpain GT Series in 2017.

Dreyspring is only 19 years old, but he participated in both the VLN and the Blancpain GT Asia amongst other series in 2017. This year will be he second only in car racing, and he will be running in the Honda NSX GT3 car which is new to not only the team but also the ADAC GT Masters.

Honda Team Schubert Motorsport aims at winning the Junior title with the young paring, which is a championship for drivers under 25.

The ADAC GT Masters will host a collective test this coming week, before the season starts for real on 14-15 April at Oschersleben.
