United Autosports turns to Asia

There is hardly any sportscar championship in the world, where United Autosports don’t participate. They will expand even further now, and by quite a bit.

When the Asian Le Mans Series 2018/19 starts on 24-25 November, the Anglo-American team will enter four cars – two LMP2 cars and two LMP3 cars.

By that announcement, we have at least five cars confirmed, since Jackie Chan DC Racing confirmed at least one of their LMP2 cars to enter, alongside hopefully one more LMP2 and an LMP3 car.

United Autosports are the defending European Le Mans Series LMP3 Champions, who is trying to defend the title this season. On top of that, they participate in the North American Endurance Cup, which is a part of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. They gave the sportscar debut to Fernando Alonso at the Daytona 24 Hours race in January, and earlier this month, Juan Pablo Montoya had his Le Mans debut with the team.

The team will enter two JS P2 and two JS P3 cars, since the latest JS P217 Ligier isn’t allowed yet in the Asian LMS. The team also imports and distributes Ligier cars and spare parts in the UK – where they also participates in the LMP3 Cup.

United Autosports are back on track this weekend, when the 6 Hours at Watkins Glen is run, as part of the NAEC Championship. The next European Le Mans Series will be run at Red Bull Ring on 15 July in Austria.
