King aiming for Indy 500 debut

Jordan King aims at his Indianapolis 500 debut, when the 103rd edition of the race will run in May 2019.

The Englishman has signed a deal with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, for this race only.

King raced in the Verizon Indycar Series through the 2018 season, where he did all the road- and street courses for Ed Carpenter Racing, while team owner Carpenter drove all the oval races himself. So the 24 year-old driver still hasn’t raced at any ovals.

The team will enter a third Honda-powered Dallara for the big race. Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato will race the team’s other two cars.

Jordan King doesn’t have any other races signed for 2018, but he has said himself, that it’s a big dream to do this legendary race.

He still has to go through the qualifying for the race, where there only are 33 spots on the starting grid, but basically everybody is allowed to participate in the qualifying session – at least after doing Rookie orientation.

The race will be run on 26 May 2019.
