Park Place Motorsports returns full time

Park Place Motorsports returns full time to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2019.

Team principal Patrick Lindsey is back behind the wheel, while he will have Porsche factory driver Patrick Long in the car with him.

They were teammates too in the 2013 season, but lately it’s mainly been Jörg Bergmeister, who has been the teammate of Lindsey.

The team enters one Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD category, where they aim at the Championship win.

Long returns to the team after several seasons in the FIA WEC, and the Wright Motorsports team during 2018, where he was teamed up with Christina Nielsen.

Lindsey also has the second half of the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship season to do, where he races for Team Project 1 together with before mentioned Bergmeister. Due to that programme, he will have to choose between FIA WEC at Spa and IMSA in Mid-Ohio, which is run on the same weekend. He currently leads the GTE-Am Championship, and if he still sits in that position after the 8 hours race at Sebring in March, he really has to think hard.

The team has yet to announce the third and a potential fourth driver at the endurance rounds in IMSA, so it’s not unlikely that Bergmeister might pop up here.

The 57th edition of the Rolex 24 At Daytona will be run in the last weekend of January.
