Brumos colours returns to Daytona and Sebring

Another set of iconic liveries will be run during the Rolex 24 at Daytona this coming weekend.

Porsche will run with Brumos colours on their GTLM cars, which brings back memories from a successful past.

Brumos has taken 15 titles and 48 race wins in the IMSA series with the white, blue and red colours on the cars.

The 48 victories could very well be the reason to run the cars for not one but two weekends – because the livery will not only run at Daytona but at the 12 hours of Sebring as well. So no doubt the goal is to grab two victories with the 911 RSR’s.

The reason for all the historic liveries this year, is the 50th anniversary of IMSA. That has made teams like Ford, Acura and CORE autosport run some special colours on their cars.

Brumos was last seen on track in spring 2015, where they raced the Daytona and Sebring races.

Brumos hasn’t always been a GT team, but has run with DP cars too. Hurley Haywood has been along on the full journey, but has retired as a racing driver now – so he will let Patrick Pilet, Nick Tandy, Frank Makowiecki, Matthieu Jaminet, Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor steer the cars.

The opening round in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will be run on 26-27 January 2019.
