Nissan to enter Nürburgring 24h and VLN 2019 with three Nissan GT-R GT3s

Nissan GT-R GT3 fans certainly have been very happy to hear the news from Nissan that three Nissan GT-R GT3s will participate in this year’s edition of the Nürburgring 24h race, and some of the VLN Endurance Championship Races.

Two of those cars will be deployed by KC Motorgroup Ltd (KCMG), which had recently raced in the Bathurst 12h at Mount Panorama in Australia. Driver line up will be Edoardo Liberati, Josh Burdon, Philipp Wlazik and some still to be announced drivers. German racer Wlazik is the only member of the crew with  experience in the Nürburgring 24h race, yet his last GT3 appearance dates back to  2011.

“Since I established KCMG, it has always been my aim to take on new challenges and make a massive impact as an Asian-based team in the motorsport sphere,” said team founder Paul Ip.

The third of the Nissan GT-R GT3s will be brought to the Nürburgring by another Asian team, Kondo Racing, with Super GT drivers Tsugio Matsuda, Mitsunori Takaboshi, Tomonobu Fuji, and social media influencer Tom Coronel behind the wheel. Tom Coronel is the only one who already has had experience with racing the Nissan GT-R GT3 several times on the Nürburgring in the past, like in 2016 when Zakspeed entered with the GT-R in a few VLN races.
