Fjordbach to race at Sebring

Anders Fjordbach will be racing in the 12 Hours of Sebring, Saturday this week.

The rapid Dane has signed a deal with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports, where he will race in the ORECA 07 #52 in the LMP2 category.

The deal was very last minute, so Fjordbach is 0n the plane to Sebring International Raceway, located between Miami and Orlando in Florida.

Fjordbach will have two rapid teammates in the car, in the shape of Gabriel Aubry and Matt McMurry. Aubry was headhunted by the Jackie Chan DC Racing outfit in 2018, and has since then raced in the Asian Le Mans Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Aubry was also active in single-seaters in 2018, where he raced in the new defunct GP3 series.

Matt McMurry is amongst the usual suspects in the IMSA series, where he has various categories. But there are other connections between the McMurry family and Fjordbach. The father of Matt, Chris, was teamed up with Anders Fjordbach in the Asian Le Mans Series 2018/19, so the two families already know each other.

That brings the Danes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race up to three, with Jan Magnussen (Corvette Racing #3) and Christina Nielsen (Heinricher Racing w. Meyer Shank Racing Acura #57) in the 12 hours, while we have five in the FIA WEC, which runs on Friday.

The 67 Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented By Advance Auto Parts will be run this Saturday, 16 March.
