RLR MSport looking towards Asia

There is a bit of tendency starting in European sportscar racing – a lot of people are starting to look towards the east.

RLR MSport is the most recent team to announce their ambitions to participate in the Asian Le Mans Series 2019/20.

The defending LMP3 Champions from the European Le Mans Series has already expanded their 2019 programme with a LMP2 car in ELMS, on top of their LMP3 effort once again. Furthermore they have a car running in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, where Christian Stubbe Olsen will be on double duty in both ELMS and MLMC in an LMP3 car.

Their LMP2 car will be driven by Arjun Maini, John Farano and Bruno Senna – at least at 5 of the 7 weekends including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Senna has a date clash with his Rebellion Racing programme at Le Mans and Silverstone, so they will have to find another driver replacing him at those two rounds. That driver haven’t been announced yet.

The plan is to pack a car into a container following the ELMS season finale in Portugal, and ship it to Shanghai, where the first round of the Asian Le Mans Series is run on 24 November.

The European Le Mans Series 2019 starts in two and a half weeks at Paul Ricard near Le Castellet in the South of France.
