Herta remains at Harding Steinbrenner Racing

Colton Herta will remain at Harding Steinbrenner Racing in 2020, but with even closer ties to Andretti Autosport.

The HSR team were new in the NTT IndyCar Series in 2018, where they struggled their through the season with a single car at most of the rounds. At the final round of the year, they had two cars running – one for Colton Herta, and another one for Patricio O’Ward. The plan was for them to race like that in 2019, but it was announced prior to the season, that the budget for running O’Ward wasn’t there, and they would go for one car only.

The 2019 season has been an economical struggle for the team too, with them being doubtful even to finish the season. But the race victory of Herta at Round 2 of the season at COTA definitely helped them looking for sponsors, to keep this young talent going.

The car will be 100% run by Andretti Autosport, but will have the Harding Steinbrenner Racing name next to it’s entry.

The 2020 season for NTT IndyCar Series starts on 15 March in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 2019 finale will be run today at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
