Le Mans winners enter Petit Le Mans

The Petit Le Mans race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will get another car with an awesome set of drivers.

Risi Competizione will finally return to the racing tracks, after only running at Daytona and Le Mans this year. The Ferrari 488 GTE car has been parked in the garage ever since.

The American team with Italian roots have got a bit of a super team to race in the car, for the 10 hours race. It will be the 2019 Le Mans winning crew from GTE Pro – James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Serra.

The team haven’t confirmed yet, if they will run their traditional red car, or if it will be the blue version, which they ran at Le Mans this year.

That brings the GTLM field up to 9 cars, with the sole Ferrari having to battle a pair of Fords, a pair of Corvettes, a pair of BMWs and a pair of Porsches, with the latter being the top favourites for the Drivers Titles. Porsche has already won the Constructors and Teams titles in 2019.

The race will be run on 12 October at Road Atlanta in Georgia.
