Schedule and junior driver announced

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has announced the 2020 schedule, as well as revealed their new driver for the Young Driver programme.

PMSC will once again follow the Formula 1 schedule, but there are quite significant changes compared to the 2019 edition.

The pre-season testing will be in Barcelona, but the first race of the season will be run in Zandvoort in the Netherlands, with its return to Formula 1.

The season moves on to Spain, Monaco, Austria, Great Britain, Hungary and Belgium, before the season finale will be at Monza.

The 2020 season will only consist of eight rounds, with the races solely being held in Europe, which is the first time in a long time.

The winner of the Rookie Championship in PMSC 2019, Ayhancan Güven, has been chosen by Porsche to be the new Junior driver in the coming season. The 21 year-old Turkish racing driver won both the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and France in 2018. Güven instantly showed good speed in PMSC, finishing second in the first race of the season. He has a slight dive of performance for the next few races, but returned with a bang at Silverstone, where he won his maiden race. He finished the season off by finished second in three out of six races.
