29 drivers inducted in the Hall Of Fame

The FIA has inducted twenty-nine sportscar drivers in their Hall Of Fame, who already holds all Formula 1 and World Rally Championship winners. The list contains all overall World Championships, in the years, where it’s been hosted as official World Championships. The first years were from 1981 until 1992, and the current FIA World Endurance Championship, that has been running since 2012. Formula E granted World Championship status

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship has been granted World Championship status from the coming 2020/21 season onwards. The members for the FIA World Motorsport Council have decided to upgrade the series an official championship level, after “just” being run as an FIA series since its inaugural season in 2014/15. The new status does, however, mean that ABB will disappear from the name of the series, since World Championships can’t have a title sponsor as part of the official name, according to FIA rules. Bortolotti and Niederhauser hired by Audi

Audi Sport has announced their GT works driver for the 2020 season. There were just ten drivers in the programme in 2019, but that has been extended to twelve. Mirko Bortolotti and Patric Niederhauser are the new employees to race in the Audi R8 GT3 Evo cars all over the world. Niederhauser has been racing Audi cars on/off since 2017 in things like the ADAC GT Masters, but now he is directly under contract with Audi Sport.
