Le Mans 2020 moved to september

The 24 Hours of Le Mans for sportscars has been moved to September 2020.

The change is down to the COVID-19 virus, which has impacted all motorsport plans during this springtime.

The race will run on 19-20 September, which will have an influence on the Silverstone race, which was scheduled as the start of the 2020/21 season of FIA WEC.

The organizers haven’t released exact information regarding the changes on the European Le Mans Series 2020 schedule, plus the rest of the 2019/20 FIA WEC and the 2020/21 season start.

This will most likely have an impact on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season as well, since several of the GTLM teams have opted to race in the GTE Pro category. But they have their own date issues, since all races until the start of May has been cancelled or postponed, resulting in the Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course race not happening either.

All fans, drivers and teams are waiting impatiently on the new dates, which will be released in the coming days, weeks and months.
