Trummer back at APR

Simon Trummer will do the opening race of the European Le Mans Series for Algarve Pro Racing, after all.

The Swiss driver was first announced as one of the drivers for the team, with another press release shortly after, that with him being active in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the USA, and the ELMS opening round, and the IMSA race at Sebring clashing, the IMSA commitment would be his priority.

But APR has just announced today, that things have changed once again, and that he will be racing at Paul Ricard in two weeks’ time.

So that puts Andrea Pizzitola back on the reserve bench once again – a bench that he is sharing with Arjun Maini. Maini was supposed to have raced for APR this year, but the Indian driver is stuck back in India due to the COVID-19 situation, so he will instead have the role as a test- and reserve driver for the team – once he actually makes it to Europe, if he can do so this season.

The opening round of the European Le Mans Series 2020 will be run on 19 July at Paul Ricard in the south of France.
