Surprising events happened at Zandvoort, when BOSS GP had their second round of this years Championship on May 20th-21st. It wasn’t an Open driver but a Formula participant who ran away with the overall wins. Johann Ledermair in a GP2 car won heat 1 ahead of the Open driver Rinus van Kalmthout, who runs a modified GP2 Evo, which in theory should be faster. Weather played a big part in the opening race

The weather played a big part when BOSS GP had their opening round at Hockenheim. Just as the warm-up lap started, rain started to fall, which gave chaos with several crashes. When the race was finally started, it only lasted until turn 1 before Klaas Zwart crashed his Jaguar R5 Formula 1 car from 2004. That send the Safety Car back on track. BOSS GP will start their 2017 season this weekend at Hockenheim. Big Open Single Seater GP, which is the full name of the series, is a mix of single-seaters from all over the world. BOSS GP driver on his way to IndyCar

BOSS GP driver Luis Michael Dorrbecker is on his way to the Verizon IndyCar Series. The 24 year old Mexican, who has relations to Germany as well, will be testing for Schmidt Peterson Motorsport (SPM) at Sebring on the 1st of March. Dorrbecker won the Auto GP Championship in 2016, where he did a double programme, and finished in P2 in the BOSS GP Formula rankings with Team Torino Squadra Corse in a Lola B05/52 car. BOSS GP has presented their 2017 race calendar. It will be an extended calendar compared to the 2016 season, but also with a few changes regarding the tracks. The start of the season will once again be held at Hockenheim in April, followed by Zandvoort for the Race Days by Max Verstappen – a guarantee to be loaded with Dutch fans. BOSS GP found their 2 Champions of 2016 when the penultimate round was held at Brno in the Czech Republic. Ingo Gerstl in the Open class has been at the front all season long. Boss GP delivered an action-packed weekend, when they visited the Dutch track, Assen. The race series is a mix of different single-seaters, that have become too old to compete in their original championships.
